The files of Werner Beusch contain a wide variety of documents from his scientific career at CERN. He mainly worked on the OMEGA Spectrometer at CERN from the 1960s to his retirement in 1995.

The documents contain a variety of materials from 1947 to 2015, which includes some non-CERN and CERN scientific publications, Beusch's publications, correspondence, handwritten notes, administrative documents, conferences, photographs, films, slides and reference materials. The languages most used in the documents are German, English and French, with one publication in Greek.

What mainly constitutes the collection are the handwritten notes that we found in his possession, which are unique. These include scientific calculations, experimental data calculations, graphs/charts and research notes. It also contains correspondence with colleague, including Jean-Pierre Blaser and with institution including ETH Zürich about Beusch's work.

The collection also contains slides, photographs and films documenting CERN from an aerial point of view, laboratory, charts, scientific presentations and on the OMEGA Spectrometer particle events recorded.

This folder contains administrative and professional records relating to Werner Beusch’s career at CERN, particularly the period leading up to his retirement in 1995. The records include handwritten notes and draft farewell messages, retirement-related documents such as attestations, claims for reinstallation indemnity, and information for departing CERN staff. Also included are personnel management records, including peer review rating forms, annual interviews and advancement reports, training certificates, memoranda, and correspondence concerning professional references and recommendations. The records document the administrative aspects of Beusch’s employment and professional activities from the 1970s to the 1990s.

This archive box contains eight (8) slides boxes. Those slides where used by Werner Beusch for presentations from 1968 to 1971 and one slides box undated.

This folder contains a copy of a publication “Observation of Ω- and Ω- in sulphur-tungsten interactions at 200 GeV/c per nucleon” from the WA85 Collaboration which Werner Beusch participated in, a copy of a publication from the Nuclear Instrument and Methods in Physics Research “A fast RICH detector for particle identification in ALICE at LHC” and “Particle identification with a solid photocathode RICH in ALICE at LHC” were received by Werner Beusch. A copy of a publication from the Physikalisches Institut Universität Heidelberg “Ageing Effects Observed in the CERN Omega RICH” and “The OMEGA-RICH”. a copy from ETHZ “The development of a pixel detector for high luminosity experiments”

This folder contains reference materials about physics which were printed by Beusch during his retirement from 1995 to 2001 which was the last year printed on the document found.

This series contains publications written or co-written by Beusch during his career at CERN, ETHZ and Physics Letters B: like “Über Zweiquanten-Übergänge an Ba137” is a doctoral thesis he did at ETHZ in 1960.

This series contains CERN Publications and Thesis owned by Werner Beusch such as “CERN Courrier” (Cern Courrier 8 vol. 2 august 1962) and “Physics reports” “North-Holland”.

The “CERN Publications” includes Publications and Theses that were received by Beusch from fellow scientist at CERN.

The majority of materials in this series are in English and French. One publication has it's original title in Greek, as it was published in Greek.

This series contains slides, slide boxes contain titles related to conferences in different cities such as Zürich, Bern, Bologna and Vienna and some photos of CERN and the machines. The content of the slides includes graphics about subjects as titled on the boxes such as Polar, Coherent, Magnet Spark CH Technique, K1 K1 New, K1 K1 old, Pp- -->nn-, 1-8. Polar, K1 K1 Philad and K+A --> K ππ + A.
