At the end of 1985, the existing services of the Technical Services and Buildings Division (SB) were regrouped into a new Technical Support Division (ST, from the French "Soutien Technique"). The ST Division provided technical support for accelerators and experimental areas, including the LHC, in civil engineering, cooling systems, heavy handling, access control, video systems, and infrastructure monitoring. It was also responsible for building-related services such as heating, air conditioning, low-voltage electrical systems, cleaning, and green area maintenance. In 2004, ST merged with Engineering Support and Technologies to form the Technical Support Department (TS). Later in 2004, TS was discontinued and its groups joined the Sector of Administration and General Infrastructure. In 2016, the sector was renamed Finance and Human Resources (FHR). In 2021, the Site Management and Buildings Department (SMB) was renamed the Site and Civil Engineering Department (SCE).
